臭化亜鉛/臭化リチウム、通常ジブチルエーテル中25%溶液
ZnBr2
「既製」のジブチルエーテル溶液を使用することで、非常に吸湿性でほこりっぽいZnBr₂およびLiBr粉末の取り扱いを回避できる。
ZnBr₂/LiBrジブチルエーテル溶液は、主に有機合成への応用のために開発された。
- 有機マグネシウムおよび有機リチウム化合物の対応する亜鉛試薬へのC-Cカップリング反応のためのトランスメタリン化（根岸プロトコール）
- 標準塩基を用いたカルボニル化合物の脱プロトン化とそれに続くZnBr₂によるトランスメタリン化によるエノラート亜鉛の形成
- 環化付加反応の触媒作用、例：電子リッチジエンとカルボニル化合物のディールス・アルダー反応
- 選択的還元剤の調製、例：NaBH₄とZnBr₂の反応によるZn(BH₄)₂
