Selektive Deprotonierung von Arenen und Heteroarenen.
Arene und Heteroarene werden in der Regel durch eine gezielte Lithiierung mit Organolithiumverbindungen oder Organolithiumamiden deprotoniert (z. B. LDA). Die hohe Reaktivität und Nukleophilie dieser Reagenzien führen oft zu unerwünschten Nebenreaktionen und schließen das Vorhandensein empfindlicher funktioneller Gruppen wie Ester oder Ketone aus. Darüber hinaus erfordern solche Deprotonierungsreaktionen oft niedrige Temperaturen, was zu höheren Produktionskosten in größerem Umfang führt.
Aufgrund ihrer niedrigen kinetischen Basizität tolerieren Zinkamide zahlreiche funktionelle Gruppen.
