Natriumbromid zur Quecksilber-Kontrolle ist eine wässrige Lösung mit einem 40 %igen Gewichtsanteil von Natriumbromidsalz.
Mit Natriumbromid zur Quecksilber-Kontrolle kann die Oxidation von elementarem Quecksilber verbessert werden, das in Abgasumgebungen von Erzeugungsanlagen und Verbrennungsanlagen vorhanden ist. Oxidiertes Quecksilber lässt sich über herkömmliche Schadstoffbeseitigungsverfahren und -geräte leichter entfernen. Natriumbromid kann auch zu Adsorptionsmaterialien wie Aktivkohle hinzugefügt werden, um die Aufnahme von elementarem Quecksilber zu verbessern.
Die 45 %ige Natriumbromidlösung hat die höchste stabile Konzentration von Natriumbromid in einer wässrigen Lösung. Dieses Produkt kann Bromid in einen Prozess einbringen, während der Wassergehalt so niedrig wie möglich gehalten wird. Die Gesamtkristallisationstemperatur für dieses Produkt liegt bei 3,3 °C und wird von einigen Nutzern als ihre Sommerqualität des Produkts betrachtet.
