President, Bromine Specialties
Raphael Crawford is President of Albemarle’s Bromine Specialties global business unit.
Crawford joined Albemarle in 2012 as Vice President for the company’s Performance Catalyst Solutions division, with overall responsibility for the direction and results of the business. In 2015, he was appointed Vice President of Albemarle’s Synthesis and Polymer Solutions division as well as the Managing Director for Rockwood Lithium GbmH in Germany. Later in 2015, Crawford assumed his current role leading the Bromine Specialties business unit.
Prior to joining Albemarle, Crawford was the Director of Global Marketing and Business Development for Dow Coating Materials, a global business unit of The Dow Chemical Company. He previously served as the Global Commercial Director and Global Asset Director for Dow Water and Process Solutions, positions he assumed in 2009 following the acquisition of Rohm and Haas Company. Crawford joined Rohm and Haas in 2003 and held various strategic marketing and commercial roles.
Before joining Rohm and Haas, Crawford worked at Campbell Soup Company as a Marketing Manager. He began his career at SNET Telecommunications where he served in several capacities including new ventures, finance and marketing.
Crawford holds a M.Sc. degree in Finance from the University of New Haven and a degree in Economics from Wesleyan University, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.He maintains professional certifications in Management Accounting and Financial Management by the Institute of Management Accountants.
Crawford currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers, holding the role of Chairman of the Petrochemical Members Committee.
