Resources

Access to raw materials is fundamental to a vital economy and necessary to secure supplies.

Albemarle is completely backwards integrated and has three independent primary lithium resources in operation: The Chilean resource at the Salar de Atacama is the most attractive in the world and in operation by Albemarle since the 1980s. In Silver Peak, Nevada Albemarle operates an additional brine based plant since the 1960's, and in 2014 the company acquired a 49% share in Talison Lithium in Australia with the access to its world class spodumene resources.

In addition, Albemarle is constantly working on innovative exploitation techniques in order to increase resource efficiency as well as foster sustainability of the resources.
