Albemarle Care Fund

On June 26, 2019, New Johnsonville Operator Larry Mosley passed away after experiencing difficulties from a blood clot. His daughter Bridgette, niece Tonya and nephew Steven, all work at our New Johnsonville site. A quick “pass-the-hat fundraiser," coupled with a GoFundMe campaign, brought in over $6,000 for Larry's wife and surviving family. The Albemarle Care Fund was then activated and that donation was doubled. Employees from all over the world donated in a show of support of Larry's family, truly displaying our Core Value of Care. The Albemarle Care Fund is an organization designed to enable employees and retirees around the world to directly help one another. This program provides funds to assist Albemarle employees and retirees who experience financial hardship due to a natural disaster, life-threatening illness or injury, death, or other catastrophic or extreme circumstance beyond the employee's control.

Larry's daughter Bridgette shared this note of thanks: “My family and I would like to thank you for all of the donations made after the sudden passing of my Dad, Larry Mosley. It was such a comfort to know that he had touched so many lives in his way. Your support helped us to cope at this sad time and you will never know how much we appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and kindness. It has been a really tough few weeks, but with the support of friends, family, and co-workers like yourselves, we are getting through it. My Dad and I have worked at the New Johnsonville site for 23 years, and we are very blessed to have you all as our work family. Thank you, again, for your kindness and generosity."

Thank you to the Albemarle employees who honored Larry and his family with your donations. You showed how we Grow the Good for each other during difficult times.
