Lithium Fluoride, technical grade

LiF

CAS Number:  7789-24-4 EC Number:  232-152-0 REACH Number:  01-2120751214-63-0001

Lithium Fluoride, technical grade (CAS 7789-24-4) is an inorganic lithium salt with molecular formula LiF. It is typically supplied as a crystalline.

It is used as a lithium source in glass and ceramic formulations to modify processing and material properties. Fluxes for welding and soldering techniques; salt bath for heat-treatment by low temperature and for dip brazing; fluxing agent for the glass, ceramics and enamel industries; additive in aluminum-electrolysis melts; raw material for optical lenses and prisms.

Store in a tightly sealed container to prevent contamination (and moisture pickup where applicable). Use standard industrial hygiene practices and consult the SDS for handling, incompatibilities, and spill response.
