Proposed Workers Accommodation Village near Binningup

At Albemarle, we continue to expand our diverse global footprint of world-class resources at Kemerton as part of our overall strategy to drive significant shareholder value and meet our customers' demands while actively collaborating and engaging in the communities where we work and live.

Albemarle plans to double the capacity of the Kemerton operations, which will secure Western Australia's position as a critical player in the global lithium industry and green energy future. The global push to reduce carbon emissions has boosted demand for high-quality lithium and refined products from safe and reliable sources.

The proposed expansion at Kemerton is an exciting opportunity for the State and the South-West region, which will deliver significant economic benefits through jobs in construction, long-term jobs during operations, and opportunities for local businesses.

Albemarle submitted a development application to the Shire of Harvey seeking approval for construction of a temporary accommodation village outside Binningup town to house the additional construction workforce needed for future Kemerton expansion. The development will be a high-quality, purpose-built facility catering for 500 people, built on a small portion of privately owned land.

Please review the documents provided for information about the proposal. As we have new information, this page will be updated.
