RENEWFINE™ CATALYST TECHNOLOGIES
Albemarle has extensive experience with renewables hydrotreating in commercial practice. The applications span from 100% Vegetable Oil (VO) to co-processing. Albemarle catalyst systems for co-processing are well-proven drop-in solutions that do not require configuration and equipment changes. Based on the knowledge developed together with its customers and the continuous efforts of its R&D team, Albemarle is launching a catalyst line fully dedicated to co-processing of renewables: ReNewFine™. ReNewFine™ grades tackle the specific challenges in a hydrotreater that arise from renewables co-processing and are applied following the principles of the ReNewSTAX™ loading technology.
ReNewFine™ 100 series consists of HydroDeMetallization (HDM) catalysts specifically suited for renewable co-processing applications with the purpose of trapping Phosphorous and alkaline metals like Mg, K, Na and Ca. ReNewFine™ 100 series helps prevent pressure drop problems and reduces deactivation of the main catalyst.
ReNewFine™ 200 series consists of grades suited for renewables co-processing with HydroDeOxygenation (HDO) as their main function. The series has a very high HDO selectivity, which allows the removal of oxygen from fatty acids while providing a significant reduction in the formation of CO.
