Applications

Products powered by lithium

Lithium is a lightweight, pliable element with unique energy storage properties that enable the next generation of battery technologies.

For example, lithium-ion batteries enable higher energy density (i.e., the ability to store energy) and specific power (i.e., the ability to provide a power burst) than competing battery technologies. As such, lithium-based technology has become the battery technology of choice to power our future. Lithium is also used in a number of other critical applications beyond energy storage, including glasses and ceramics, rubbers, lubricants, and pharmaceuticals.
