Mitchell is President of Albemarle’s Lithium global business unit.
He began his professional career with The BOC Group’s industrial gases business serving in a variety of management positions in the areas of sales and marketing, corporate business development and general management. Mitchell then became president of Environmental Management Corporation, following its acquisition by BOC. He later served as Senior Advisor to the Linde Group, supplying turnaround strategies to its African and South American businesses. Mitchell joined Rockwood Lithium as President for North America in 2011.
As a result of Albemarle's acquisition of Rockwood Holdings in 2015, Mitchell joined Albemarle as Vice President of the Performance Materials global business unit, supporting the company's Bromine and Lithium businesses. Later that year, Mitchell was promoted to President of Albemarle's Lithium and Advanced Materials global business unit.
Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from Drexel University.
