Albemarle has a 50% interest in Jordan Bromine Company (JBC), a joint venture that was established in 1999 to produce, manufacture and distribute bromine and bromine derivatives in Jordan.

Today JBC, a joint venture between Arab Potash Company (APC) and Albemarle Holdings LTC, owns and operates the second-largest bromine plant in the world.

Our 50% interest in JBC, a consolidated joint venture with operations in Safi, Jordan, acquires bromine that is originally sourced from the Dead Sea. JBC processes the bromine at its facilities into a variety of end products.
