Honoring People who Inspire us

Honoring People who Inspire us

February is Black History Month. A time to recall and appreciate the history, culture and incredible achievements of Black Americans. At Albemarle, one of the ways we are doing this is by remembering some of the talented and brave African Americans who, despite facing challenges, hardship and injustice, have exemplified the values we uphold to accomplish some amazing things in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics - better known as STEM.

Our values - Care, Curiosity, Courage, Collaboration, Humility, Integrity and Transparency - are behavior based principles that speak to the characteristics we hold high. Some say, the most powerful way to learn is by example, so, during the month of February, we are recognizing influential African Americans who have lived these values throughout history to establish real, impactful change in the world.
