HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR JOB CONNECTS TO ALBEMARLE'S STRATEGY?

My job is to research and develop next-generation lithium compounds for energy storage, which allows batteries to store more clean energy and last longer. With a team of talented co-workers, I challenge myself at the frontline of battery materials science and engineering. Like my fellow Albemarle employees, I am proud to help create a great and green future for the world.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW THAT CONTRIBUTES TO OUR ABILITY TO EXECUTE OUR STRATEGY?

At present, we are building a state of the art battery evaluation center, enabling both internal and external customer engagement. Internally, we research new materials, establish process know-how, and provide technical insights to the products team for improvement. Externally, the first-hand performance data we are collecting is critical to building reputation and credibility when establishing long-term relationships with the customer.

HOW DOES YOUR ROLE POWER THE POTENTIAL OF A SAFE AND SUSTAINABLE WORLD?

Global electrification is an essential piece of our purpose to create a safe and sustainable world. Our customers, and the world, require materials with ever-increasing performance. Our global Lithium R&D team strives to develop new materials and innovate process development to revolutionize lithium battery technology. I am excited about working at Albemarle, because I am part of a team providing a world-class solution in materials design to a world-class problem in energy storage.

HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN OUR STRATEGY TO A NEW TEAM MEMBER?

We courageously face new challenges and create new chemistries to meet society's needs using environmentally friendly processes and products.

Our shared purpose allows us to work across business functions to achieve success. We gain daily support from Production; interface with customers through our Commercial and OTC teams; and build upon our capabilities with support from Engineering. Because we work as ONE TEAM, we continue to gain trust and support from customers and realize success. This collaborative community represents the potential and momentum powering the future of Albemarle.
