How do you feel your job connects to Albemarle's Strategy?

I am a member of the IBO Global Procurement Organization and my job is to support the operations of the Lithium GBU within Chile, through the creation, development and execution of a Procurement strategy that enables Albemarle to efficiently manage strategic contracts for goods and services. Importance is given to quality, timely delivery, and achieving lowest total cost for the operations of Chile so that Albemarle can fulfill its purpose and strategy. My work is fully aligned with the global strategy and purpose of the company by ensuring that our corporate values are reflected in each process.

What are you working on now that contributes to our ability to execute our Strategy?

Presently, I am working on the “SA Procurement Implementation Roadmap for Indirects" initiative which consists of developing category strategies aligned with the business needs and objectives, implementing the three-year Indirect Procurement Strategic Plan, and supporting the strategic objectives and operational needs of the Lithium GBU in Chile.

How does your role power the potential of a safe and sustainable world?

In my role, I interact with different types of stakeholders including employees, contractors, and suppliers. I am proud to have the opportunity to communicate both inside and outside the workplace what we are doing in Albemarle, the way we are working and how we are fulfilling our commitments, with the authorities and communities, for example, with a commitment toward sustainability. I think we are in a privileged time and place. All of us are protagonists in this story together with Albemarle, producing the lithium that moves the world, which contributes directly to the care of the planet, to build a safer and more sustainable world.

How would you explain our Strategy to a new team member?

Lithium is the basis of the clean energy of today and the future to develop a safer and more sustainable world. Albemarle is a global company that is contributing toward transforming the use of energy through electro mobility on the planet. All of us who work at Albemarle live the values as our own, inside and outside of work and materialize them in every action we execute.

We take care of the health and safety of people and the environment, we bravely face difficult challenges, we collaborate to achieve the objectives, and we humbly work with integrity and transparency. I would like to convey to all that working at Albemarle is a privilege, as it is a place where we can all contribute and work toward achieving common goals.
