Bromine Chemicals: For Capture in Scrubbers

Albemarle is a leading chemical manfacturer of bromine and bromine derivatives. Calcium bromide solution, other bromide salt soltuions or Hydrobromic Acid (HBr) 48% can be added to various locations within the environmental equipment layout including the flue gas ducts. The additions of these chemicals oxidizes the mercury; afterwhich the mercury can then be removed in the particulate collection device with the addition of activated carbon or in the FGD unit.
