Metallocenes
line

Albemarle produces metallocenes on a confidential, custom basis. We realize that metallocene structures are typically the result of intensive (and expensive) exploration by polymer producers, and metallocene performance is intimately connected with the polymer's architecture and the reaction process. For all these reasons, the details of our customer relations are always strictly confidential.

We manufacture more metallocenes than anyone else in the world, and we've worked on metallocene synthesis for nearly forty years. In fact, we produced hundreds of metallocene structures in the 1950's and 1960's during our research on improved gasoline combustion modifiers.

Our experience includes unbridged bis cyclopentadienyl and bridged bis cyclopentadienyl, as well as varieties of monocyclopentadienyl, fluorenyl and indenyl structures containing Ti, Zr, or Hf metal centers, and with an assortment of substituents and substitution patterns requiring a high degree of purity.

Albemarle's extensive experience in pharmaceutical and fine chemical synthesis provides us with a large tool box of capabilities that we use to make the complex ligands found in metallocene catalysts. We offer significant production capacity, and we're committed to meeting your requirements as your needs grow.

Using equipment with capacities from 10 gallons (40 L) to 500 gallons (2000 L), we can move rapidly and reliably through scale-up to make your metallocenes efficiently and at low cost. Click here for a PDF presentation that illustrates the type of equipment available for metallocene manufacture.
