Resid

Hydrotreating of residual oil feedstocks is one of the most severe refinery processes. These high pressure units must deal with very heavy feeds, often containing hundreds of ppm of contaminant metals and highly hydrogen deficient hydrocarbons. Resid hydrotreating is accomplished in either a fixed bed unit or an ebullated bed unit. Each unit has specific and quite different needs in terms of catalyst properties. Albemarle offers a full range of catalysts for fixed bed resid units in our KFR family of catalysts and for ebullated bed resid units in our KF-1300 series.
