Catalysts

Modern FCC units process a variety of feedstocks. To maximize profitability the unit is pushed to one or more constraints, which depend on the feedstock being processed, the unit configuration and the mode of operation. With a properly tuned FCC catalyst the unit operating window is increased, thereby giving the flexibility to process heavier and cheaper feedstocks or increase unit severity for maximum conversion to higher margins lighter products.

Albemarle has built up considerable know-how in designing and selecting the right catalytic solutions for every application. This know-how is based on smart feed characterization, extensive pilot plant and commercial performance evaluation, cooperation with customers and the use of a kinetic FCC model.
