Hydrotreating

Hydrotreating catalysts are primarily used to remove sulfur, nitrogen and other contaminants from refinery feedstocks.

In addition, they improve product properties by adding hydrogen and in some cases improve the performance of downstream catalysts and processes. Albemarle offers a wide range of hydrotreating catalysts to treat the lightest to the heaviest feedstocks while meeting cycle length and product property objectives.

CoMo Catalysts for Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD)
KF 772

KF 772 STARS® is a high activity desulfurization catalyst in the STARS® catalyst family. It has 100% Type II active sites which provide exceptional activity in ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) applications. KF 772 has been optimized to provide very high HDS activity and excellent stability in ULSD units operating at moderate to high pressure and processing some cracked feedstocks.

KF 771

KF 771 STARS® is a high activity desulfurization catalyst in the STARS® catalyst family. It has 100% Type II active sites which provide exceptional activity in ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) applications. KF 771 has been optimized to provide very high HDS activity and excellent stability in ULSD units operating at moderate pressure and processing some cracked feedstocks.

KF 770

KF 770 STARS® is a high activity desulfurization catalyst in the STARS® catalyst family. It has close to 100% Type II active sites which gives it exceptional activity in high severity applications such as ultra low sulfur diesel. KF 770 has been optimized to balance hydrogenolysis and hydrogenation based desulfurization in low to medium pressure ULSD units.

KF 767

KF 767 STARS® is a high activity desulfurization catalyst in the STARS® catalyst family and having nearly 100% Type II active sites. KF 767 has been specifically designed for producing ultra low sulfur at moderate pressure and without excessive hydrogen consumption. It achieves significantly higher activity than previous catalyst generations when HDS activity is controlled by nitrogen inhibition.

KF 758
KF 758 STARS™ is a high activity desulfurization catalyst in the STARS™ catalyst family with an extremely high metal efficiency.  KF 758 STARS™ has close to 100% Type II active sites which, in combination with its high metal dispersion, gives it exceptional activity and stability in high severity applications such as ultra low sulfur diesel.
KF 757
KF 757 STARS® is a high activity desulfurization catalyst in the STARS® catalyst family. It has close to 100% Type II active sites which gives it exceptional activity in high severity applications such as ultra low sulfur diesel. It also has a very open pore structure for application in heavier feed applications such as FCC-PT.

 

NiMo Catalysts for ULSD & Hydrocracking Pretreat
KF 880
KF 880 STARS® is Albemarle’s new premium NiMo catalyst for distillate hydrotreating applications. KF 880 utilizes STARS® technology to ensure near 100% Type II active sites. KF 880 displays exceptionally high hydrogenation activity, leading to increased desulfurization, denitrogenation and dearomatization of straight run and cracked feedstock. KF 880 is the perfect solution for achieving additional volume swell, cetane uplift and for increased upgrading of distressed feedstock to high value diesel.
KF 870

KF 870 STARS® is Albemarle's next generation, high-activity NiMo catalyst for Hydrocracking Pretreatment. KF 870 utilizes STARS® technology to ensure near 100% Type II active sites.  Increased desulfurization and denitrogenation activity coupled with an optimal network of pore structure allows unparalleled performance at even the most severe process conditions. 

KF 868


KF 868 STARS® is a super-high activity NiMo catalyst utilizing STARS® technology for optimum performance in ULSD and HC-PT service. It has an open pore structure suitable for application in treating both distillate and VGO feedstocks.


KF 860

KF 860 STARS® is a super-high activity NiMo catalyst utilizing STARS® technology to ensure near 100% Type II active sites. It has a highly accessible pore structure making it ideal for heavy feeds where deep denitrogenation and dearomatization are desired, such as hydrocracker pretreatment and mild hydrocracking of VGO.

KF 848
KF 848 STARS® is a super-high activity NiMo catalyst utilizing STARS® technology to ensure near 100% Type II active sites.It is recommended for denitrogenation and dearomatization in high severity service, such as hydrocracker pretreatment. It is also ideal for higher pressure diesel HDS units for the ultra-deep desulfurization of distillates to 50 ppm or lower, achieving extra density reduction and dearomatization.

FCC-Pretreat Catalysts
KF 907
KF 907 is a very high activity Type I hydrotreating catalyst used for a wide range of feedstocks. This catalyst is particularly well suited for FCC pretreat applications where its very high desulfurization levels are required for low sulfur FCC gasoline without sacrificing denitrogenation and hydrogenation.
KF 905N
KF 905N STARS® is a high activity NiCoMo catalyst utilizing STARS® technology to ensure near 100% Type II active sites. This catalyst is particularly well suited for FCC pretreat applications where its high desulfurization levels are required for low sulfur FCC gasoline without sacrificing denitrogenation and hydrogenation activity. It offers an excellent stability in high severity operations and with metal containing feedstock.
KF 905

KF 905 STARS® is a high activity NiCoMo catalyst utilizing STARS® technology to ensure near 100% Type II active sites. This catalyst is particularly well suited for FCC pretreat applications where its high desulfurization levels are required for low sulfur FCC gasoline without sacrificing denitrogenation and hydrogenation activity. It offers an excellent stability in high severity operations ands with metal containing feedstock.

KF 861
KF 861 STARS® is a super high activity NiMo catalyst utilizing STARS® technology for optimum performance in ULSD and FCC-PT service. It has an open pore structure suitable for treating both distillate and VGO feedstocks. 
KF 851

KF 851 is a high activity NiMo catalyst developed for HDN, HDS and aromatics saturation in FCC-PT service. In addition to its high activity for hydrogenation and heteroatom removal, it has high metals holding capacity for improved stability in processing heavy feeds such as HVGO, ATB, DAO and DMO. KF 851 also performs very well in lighter feed service such as naphtha, kerosene and diesel.

KF 780
KF 780 STARS® is a high activity desulfurization catalyst in the STARS® catalyst family with an extremely high metal efficiency.  KF 780 STARS® has close to 100% Type II active sites which, in combination with its high metal efficency, give it exceptional activity and stability in VGO applications.

Coker Naphtha Catalysts
KF 859

KF 859 is a very high activity NiMo catalyst designed for desulfurization (HDS) and denitrogenation (HDN) of coker products. It has a high surface area combined with a large pore structure providing a very high silicon capacity compared to catalysts with comparable activity.

KF 857
KF 857 STARS® is a high activity NiMo catalyst utilizing STARS® technology to ensure near 100% Type II active sites. It is recommended for hydroprocessing of FCC feeds when high levels of HDS, HDN and aromatic saturation are desired. The ideal application is high severity FCC feed pretreatment for producing cleaner fuels. Its open pore structure contributes to excellent accessibility and stability when treating heavy VGO.

 

NEBULA
NEBULA® Nebula® is the latest, highest activity shaped base metal catalyst. It represents the greatest step forward since the beginning of hydroprocessing catalyst development in the 1950’s. It is especially suitable for ultra deep desulfurization, denitrogenation and dearomatization at medium to high pressures.
