Launched in 2007, the Albemarle Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to community sustainability.

Since its beginning, the foundation has delivered over $14 million to more than 200 deserving agencies in locations where our employees live and operate. Now launched at all US sites, the Albemarle Foundation strength lies with the overwhelming support of the employees of Albemarle. Our commitment to sustainability in the communities in which we live and operate and our dedication to making a difference takes center stage in the grants, volunteer projects/grants, matching gift programs and scholarships offered by the Foundation.
 
Educational initiatives like Baton Rouge employees’ partnership with the Children’s Charter School to tutor young, at-risk students to improve their chances for success in the classroom and beyond. The WAGE program in Magnolia AR, to expand programs for adult education enabling adults to better their family circumstances also fits perfectly with our mission. And, a grant for an educational center at Armand Bayou in Pasadena, TX will allow families and children hands on learning about our environment and natural resources. 

Our Habitat for Humanity grants and volunteer projects in Orangeburg, Baton Rouge and South Haven allow employees to contribute their time and talent to a very worthy cause. The Foundation’s support continues to be exceptionally successful with employee and matching company contributions made to a wide variety of area nonprofit and charitable organizations.

Health and Social projects that tie into our products and safety culture further exemplify the power of the people at Albemarle. Examples include: The Baton Rouge General Hospital’s nationally recognized Burn Unit where with Foundation’s monetary support enhanced the waiting area for burn patients’ families, The Food Banks' Hunger to Hope campaign, Project Joy and Hope in Pasadena, TX and a digital mammogram machine grant in Tyrone, PA - perfect ways for Albemarle to continue to give back to our communities.
 
Currently, Albemarle Foundation has been launched in all our US sites and is being introduced to Albemarle locations outside the U.S. through our efforts around International Disaster Relief, thus keeping our employees engaged both domestically and internationally. Plans to develop even larger overseas philanthropic efforts are underway.
